The Admin Dashboard Tour

3 min readUpdated June 20, 2026

After activating WP Smart Consent, a new menu item appears in your WordPress admin sidebar. Everything is managed from a single-page dashboard with tabbed navigation across the top. No settings scattered across multiple menus.

General

Global settings that apply across every integration on your site. This is where you set the opt-in label text, toggle pre-checked behaviour, configure the checkbox accent color, and set your log retention period.

Data Fields

Controls what contact data gets collected and forwarded. The field list maps WPSC’s internal field slugs (email, first name, last name, phone, company, country, order total, source URL) to the fields your CRM destinations expect.

CRMs and ESPs

Where you enable and configure your email marketing and CRM destinations. The tab is divided into two groups.

Cloud ESPs covers Mailchimp, Brevo, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Omnisend, Moosend, Mailjet, GetResponse, Campaigner, Kit, Klaviyo, Drip, and HubSpot. Each has an API key field, a field mapping tab, a custom fields tab, an options tab (double opt-in, update existing, send on unchecked), and a tags tab.

WordPress CRMs covers FluentCRM, MailerPress, MailPoet, Groundhogg, Newsletter, and Mailster. These connect directly to the plugin installed on your site with no API key needed.

Checkout Sources

Enable and configure consent capture for WooCommerce (Block and Shortcode), FluentCart, SureCart, Easy Digital Downloads, and GiveWP. Toggle each one independently.

Form Sources

Enable consent capture for WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms, Everest Forms, Formidable Forms, Forminator, MetForm, Quill Forms, SureForms, Contact Form 7, Ninja Forms, and HappyForms. Enabling a form plugin here activates the integration globally. Per-form field mapping and mode selection are handled inside each form plugin’s own settings panel.

Geo Rules

Configure which countries get the checkbox pre-checked, which countries are blocked from seeing it entirely, and which US states trigger specific behaviour. Choose from five geo detection strategies ranging from pure CDN headers (zero latency, zero cost) to API-based detection with freeipapi.com or IP2Location.io.

Webhooks

Configure one or more webhook endpoints to receive consent data via POST on every opt-in event. Each webhook has its own URL, HMAC secret key, enabled toggle, and field map, so you can route different subsets of data to Zapier, Make, n8n, or your own API simultaneously.

Logs

A searchable table of every opt-in event recorded on your site. Each entry shows the contact’s email, name, timestamp, and source integration. Filter by source or date range (1D / 7D / 30D / 90D / 1Y) and export the current view as CSV for compliance records or manual import.

Manage License

Where you enter, verify, or deactivate your license key. If you’re moving the plugin to a new domain, deactivate from here first before activating on the new site.
