The Customers Log

2 min readUpdated April 20, 2026

The Customers Log is a built-in record of every opt-in event captured on your site. It’s accessible from the WP Smart Consent admin dashboard and gives you a complete, auditable history of who consented, when, and through which integration.

What Gets Logged#

Every time a visitor ticks the opt-in checkbox and completes a checkout or form submission, WP Smart Consent writes an entry to the log containing:

  • Name — the contact’s first and last name as entered in the form or checkout
  • Email — the contact’s email address
  • Source — which integration captured the opt-in (e.g. woocommerce, surecart, sureforms)
  • Date & Time — the timestamp of the submission

Logging is enabled by default and can be toggled from the Settings tab. Disabling it stops new entries from being written but does not delete existing records.

Filtering the Log#

The log includes two filters to help you find what you’re looking for:

Source filter — a dropdown that lets you view entries from a specific integration only. It appears automatically once entries with source data exist in the log.

Date range filter — narrows the view to a specific time window. Available options are 1D, 7D, 30D, 90D, and 1Y.

Both filters can be used together — for example, showing only WooCommerce opt-ins from the last 30 days.

Exporting to CSV#

The Export CSV button downloads the current filtered view as a CSV file. The filename includes the active date range so exported files are easy to identify (e.g. wpsc-logs-7d-2026-04-19.csv). All columns are included in the export, including Source.

This is useful for compliance records, manual imports into a platform, or sharing opt-in data with a third party.

A Note on Existing Entries#

If you were using WP Smart Consent before version 1.2.2, your existing log entries will show an em dash in the Source column. The source field was introduced in 1.2.2 — entries captured before that update don’t have source data attached to them.
