Licensing & Activation

WP Smart Consent is a commercial plugin licensed through SureCart. A license gives you access to plugin downloads, automatic updates, and support for one WordPress installation.

Activating Your License#

After installing and activating the plugin, go to WP Smart Consent → Manage License in your WordPress admin. Enter your license key in the field provided and click Activate. Once confirmed, your site is licensed and you’ll receive automatic update notifications going forward.

One License, One Site#

Each license covers a single WordPress installation. If you try to activate the same key on a second site while it’s already active elsewhere, activation will be rejected.

Moving Your License to a New Site#

If you need to transfer your license to a different domain or installation, deactivate it from the current site first. Go to WP Smart Consent → Manage License and click Deactivate. Once deactivated, the license is free to be activated on another site.

What Happens If You Don’t Activate#

The plugin will install and run without an activated license, but you won’t receive automatic updates through WordPress. It’s strongly recommended to activate before going live so you receive bug fixes and new integration releases automatically.

Renewing Your License#

License renewal is managed from your account at wpsmartconsent.com. If a license expires, the plugin continues to function normally — expiry only affects your access to updates and support, not the plugin’s operation on your site.
